Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twain (Much better in a Checkmate at 60+) Give a...

2011 2400 runs the Columbia River in Portland Oregon...More Checkmates coming soon...

Bravo 1, I was on the fence regarding which style of boats to build, open bow or long deck. I chose the open bow because that style of boat does a bit better in this area.. Next I will build a long deck... You're not too far from us. If you decide you want to sell your 2100, let me know and...

2011 2400 runs the Columbia River in Portland Oregon...More Checkmates coming soon...

Wow jln, that is some impressive performance #'s...assuming you have the 1.5:1 ratio, you are running with prop slip in the 6% region....that is incredibly low and there isn't much more efficiency to improve upon there. Adding some prop tip cup to gain some bow lift (to reduce wetted surface...

2011 Checkmate 2100 arrives in Northwest.....check this out!

BADBK, I haven't crunched the numbers yet but hope to in the next few days. I have not rigged a motor on the 2100 yet and am thinking about advertising it as a "pick your power". This way a buyer can choose which motor they want and I'll rig it & set it up for optimal performance with the...

Enticer1, Thanks for the post....impressive resume of boats you have and have had...one boat will never do it all...boats are sort of like shoes, you need different models for different occassions....:surf:

2011 Checkmate 2100 arrives in Northwest.....check this out!

:surf: Thanks again Chris for the opportunity to be involved in the forum and the warm welcome....I'm enjoying it very much already! It's unfortunate that the Summer / boating season in the Northwest is coming to an end in a few weeks, just as I get these hot rides... However this Forum will be...

2011 Checkmate 2100 arrives in Northwest.....check this out!

JW is right....:sssh:sorry to ignore the pokes BADBK and hotdaddy27. I hadn't (until yesterday) paid my dues to be a supporting member/vendor of the forum, therefore I felt is was best to keep off topic of being a dealer for Checkmates. With the absence of a Checkmate dealer in this area and my...

2011 2400 runs the Columbia River in Portland Oregon...More Checkmates coming soon...

jln, Your ZT280 is definitely a HOT looking boat. I really like the proportions of the boat. Without saying any names, there are some boat manufacturers that just can't seem to get the profile view of the boats right. Yours is right on. Thanks for posting the PICS! What are you running for a...

jln, The ZT280 is a Hot looking boat. I have not yet been in one but I understand they run very well. Post a picture of your boat if you don't mind..I'd like to see it. What do you have for power? This is likely the next Checkmate I'll build. thanks!

2011 2400 runs the Columbia River in Portland Oregon...More Checkmates coming soon...

 SIM, Funny....There is a LOT of truth to what you say about this area.... Us Performance Boat enthusiast are amongst the minority here (and not always so popular), with the majority being aluminum jet sleds and wakeboard boats.....both of which suffer big time in the Columbia River...
