Interested in getting a Checkmate

Hello all,

I found a Checkmate Predictor for sale in my area that I was thinking of going to check out but I am not very familiar with Checkmate boats. It is a 1989 boat with 1994 Mercury Force 120.

Is this a good boat to just go cruise around a river? I live near the Potomac and it is usually pretty calm.

Are there things I should look for on this model when I go look at it? Any thoughts on a reasonable offer?

Thanks for the help and insights!

Any boat that old should have a purchase inspection. I would be concerned about water damage to the floor, stringers and transom.
