I'm looking formm a GPS system for my new boat which will be based out of Barnegat Bay,in N.J. I want to find something w/6" or better color screen but won't break the bank. I'm not sure if I want to mount it permanently but would like to have that option. Thanks for any help,C.Mabes

If your looking GPS only to record speed and other stuff like that, the ETrex is a great system. I've debating buying one for the aluminum boat I drive and my R/C Boat... It has a built in speed recall so you don't always have to see the numbers in person...

I have a Garmin 182C Chartplotter. The unit works great. I would highly recommend it. It is easy to use and full of options. I would recommend egtting a chartplotter of a standard GOS unit. The information that is availbale with the additional Bluechart marine cartography chip is just incredible. I got mine from www.thegpstore.com

I bought my stuff from the GPS store, I recommend them, what ever you may purchase. They have good prices and fast service.

Sorry it took so long to reply, I was down in Florida to pick up my Starflite and love the boat. Finally got to meet B-Mac face to face and I can tell you he is a great guy. took me out on the bay showed me the ins and outs of the boat and a lesson on handling the Starflite. I guess I only had it up around 60/65 with 3 of us in the boat an extra 500 lbs. Believe me it is "SCARY FAST". Any way thanks for the info guys, I'm going to look into the gpsstore.com after I post this note. THANKS AGAIN! C.MABES
