ok, we messed with my 175 again today and found something interesting. when you have all the plugs out, and crank it, it spins great. as soon as you cover one hole with a finger, it it bogs down and cranks about a 3rd of what it should. been told it could be flex in crank. what do you think?
On the good hand, we found that this thing is probably a 2.4 as the pistons are bigger than a 2.0. So now im told this is a great block to hop up. Now i am taking suggestions on where to star and not break the bank. It has 2 piece heads on it which seemed strange. It is totally torn down and ready to build on so any ideas would be great. im guessing the year between 80 and 85

thanks
Dan

I'm wondering if your starter is weak. Start at your battery, and pull and completely clean all connections up to and including the starter cables. If all of your connections are clean, that starter motor might be worn out. Easier to try a new/different battery than a new starter.
