taking in water

Are you taking on water while the vessel is stationary, or when the vessel is underway(Engine running).

Holy spell check,
So water is in the bildge? Check if it comes in while just floating or while just motor running?

When its sitting in the water not running I looked at the haul and that's Good. so could it be coming in from the lower unit

If the rubber drive boot is ripped it will leak in threm the gimble bearing. Have you run the boat withe the drive all the way up.

i just got the boat, so i didnt winterize it. some time i have to drive with the trim up a little to far so the boot could be ripped im going to check that out at get back to you

i checked the boot and the plug and they look good.
i drained the boat after driving around , than we sat around for awhile and there was a bunch of water in there. i might have to bring it in to get looked at, my the lower unit aint sealed wright idk

If the speedometer hose is dissconnected or leaking inside the boat, that might be a source of water. Block it off or dissconnect from outside the boat and check to see if leak goes away. A dissconnected or damaged mechanical water pressure gauge might leak in the same fashion as a leaky speedometer. Does it leak enough to trigger the bilge pump. Does the boat come home on a trailer at the end of the day, and if so, is it dry in the bilge the next morning. Park the boat bow high and check bilge in the morning. Also, is the bilge plug housing watertight to the hull....
