Value of Trimate III

Hawthorn

New member
I was wondering what the value of a 1977 trimate III is. Here is the history of the boat..... My uncle bought the boat new in 77 In 87 he put a new 225 johnson ob motor. About 6 years ago a good freind of the family bought it and put a new transom and floors also replaced the wood in the seats and put new carpet in, he had the gel coat touch up also. He took it out and burnt a piston up replaced the piston and checked everything in the motor. In the 6 yrs he has had it he has put it in the water 3 times it just sits there collecting dust. As it sits today it has 320 hrs on the motor since 87. I am wanting to buy the boat just not sure of the value the boat is a great looking boat especially for its age i wish i had a pic of it but is orange and black. I am trying to talk him into getting rid of it he is talking to his wife and seeing if he can sell and then he will give me a number. Whats do yall think a fair price would be on the boat. i live in southeast texas and want a checkmate badly but they are rare in this area. thanks

Welcome to the forum!!!! I would guess around $2500-$3000 depending on how it looks. You might offer him $2000.00 cash and see if he would take it.

Wow I figured it would be worth more than that. The boat looks really good gelcoat isn't perfect but still in good shape, motor is still strong and runs in the mid 60s. I doubt I can get it from him for that but I don't want to over pay. Thanks

The boat is 35 yrs old and the motor is 25 yrs old, I would be suprised if he got more. I should add there is a 1993 Pulse 171 for sale $3500.
