Hi everybody. I am new to this forum. I just bought this project Checkmate. Can anyone tell me what model it is? It's a 1989 17 foot outboard model. Rated for 140HP. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Is that a good model? Any idea of value? It came with a dead 175 Merc and it needs new interior. The hull itself is solid. Just wondering if I got a good deal. Thanks again

The trailer and hull are likely worth -$1-2000 to the right person, ideally someone with a good motor,
You will spend about $2000 on an interior and $3000 on a motor to get the package nice again.

So did you get a good deal?

I paid $1250 I have a 1992 135hp black max to put on it. Also a hydraulic jackplate. Got a Bobs exhaust tuner and offshore exhaust housing on it. Right now its on my 1973 17 ft. Glastron Bayflite. With a 30p Hill signature performer chopper prop I hit 63 mph. I think the checkmate will only do around 55 with it. I dont think that will be fast enough for me. The guy I got it from sayd it did 75mph with the 175 on it.
