So how much does a Starflite really weigh?

I took the boat out Friday and brought my racecar scales to see what the boat really weighs.

1987 Starflite with 1994 4.0L Evinrude V8, 29 gal of fuel, full interior, bow foam removed, 5 life vests, towels, misc tools, etc. This is with the 32' steel double-axle trailer.

Just the trailer.

So factoring in the tounge weight with the boat on the trailer (not pictured but ~150 lbs) the rig weighs roughly 2365. Subtract fuel weight and we're looking at about 2160 lbs. That's a power-to-weight ratio of 5.1 lbs per hp which is pretty darn awesome! For comparison my Viper GTS is 6.9 lbs per hp.

Cool!

Thanks for sharing.

I estimated the Pulsare 2100 to be right there as well.

By the way, you officially have the largest trailer that I have ever seen on a 21' Sport Boat!:surf:

Thanks Rob! That's interesting. I'd guess my boat is pretty close to that then. My motor is prob. a little lighter (probably not all that much with that heavy EFI system on it) and my bow is a little heavier.

Whoaaa - I'd be interested to hear the story of how you ended up with that trailer. I'm sure it tows nice, but that thing is just massive!

Homebuilt, the extra room is for the Sea-Doo.

And yes, it tows like a DREAM. Totally stable, you can't get it to wiggle if you try.
