ZT 240 difference to ZT 240 sport

a friend of mine jurry told me there was a checkmate at the local mercuiser dealer. to you nothing news, but for me with a total count of around 10 in holland EU something to find out.
i visited the dealer to bring my senator for a small repair, and i asked him about the checkmate. sure come and see it for your self, he said. in the far end of the dealership there was lying an check zt240.
this 240 was totally not ready to go. the deck is not laminated. no floor, no engine, no nothing. just a hull and a hull number. hull number from 1997. as far i could see there was never anything mounted in it. no screwmarks. i still found it strange. why would a owner buy a hull and deck and not finish it over a period of 15 years.

my friend jurrie has the ZT240 now for lamination of the deck to the hull. the deck is only mounted with screws. he told me that a dutch guy has bought it in the US and send it over to holland to build up of the boat.
it's gonna have a brand new 496.

in email contact jur had with kip combs, kip told that it is an ZT 240 sport.

i was wondering, what is the difference between a ZT240 and a ZT240 sport?

second question; can i order a naked hull and deck from checkmate?

third question; where can i find screwmarks in the hull if the boat was finished before?

i will post some pictures overhere from the boat in the near future of this ZT240...

i would guess Kip would know , i had a zt240 a 2008 there was only one version listed then and now ..maybe the sport boat has a fairing instead of a windshield??

HD remember the 30 convincer , the brochure boat that was painted instead of gel coat that sold at diamond marine about 3 or 4 yrs ago. that boat was sent back to checkmate to fill in the transom notch and at that time they added a really sweet looking bolt on fairing . i had pics somewhere ??? i really like the look and thought i would do the same thing but the sleek looking windshield has kinda grown on me but it is very light weight and fragile . the new ones are taylor made and seem quite a bit better than the jdak. here is the boat http://www.powerboatlistings.com/view/8563

That does look good! I would love to put a fairing on my boat.

I wonder what it would cost?

Sorry to get off topic Senator-Holland.

HD , not sure of the cost but it would look nice. but i do have a lead on a used tuna tower for a ZT240 if you interested...LOL.. attack those tuna in style

@HD no problem..

this afternoon i'll go for a cup of coffee by jurry's place so i'll take some pictures of the 240 sport...

That boat was for sale around here on ebay a while back. Just a deck and a hull. Screwed together. It would not have been fiberglassed together, Checkmate doesn't do that to most boats.

I was thinking that it did at least have a hole cut for the motor.

That does look pretty sweet!!!:rof:

Right in NY too, I could be home with it in just a few hours.
