  • The jackplate is supposed to cure the chine walk and pick up about 3-5mph from what i have read. Your XR6 should be the perfect motor for that boat. I would think you would be in the low to mid 70's with that set up if the boat is dry.
    what year is the xr6?
Let me know how you make out, i was thinking about adding a jack plate and newer steering to my set up this year.

    Greg,
sorry i didn't know i had a message. don't really know how to use this! my '82 has an '83 115 inline which is supposed to be a little more than 115hp at the propshaft (its the old 150hp crank rated motor). I have a junk 23p aluminum prop on there now. I added smart tabs to the back that brought my rps down a lot but made the boat much more stable and ride a lot better in the rough. Before the tabs the boat would get up to 58 or 59 on the gps and get way out of control with chine walking and had more speed left in her, i have neither a jack plate or hydraulic/dual cable steering. At that time I was running about 5500-5800 rpms.
    Hey,

I have a 79' Predictor Im restoring with a 6" jackplate and a 150hp xr6. What size prop are you running on yours?

    Thanks,

    Greg
