    K plane - floppy floppy

But it's so fun to switch off the silent choice and hear those twins roar as you blast off...seriously though I get what your saying I just wanted to put in perspective in my op how puckering the feeling was when accelerating and the boat suddenly seemed like it was going to roll over. I do plan...

    K plane - floppy floppy

So I noticed (during an oh $h!# moment abruptly twisting to one side while coming on plane WOT) that one of my tabs has little to no resistance and can easily be manipulated by hand both up and down. Everything I search has to do with electric or pump issues and tabs not moving. Both tabs move...

    Only 4000RPM at WOT???

Ahhh...it's been so long since I was a newbie I almost forgot what it was like, well almost:brickwall: Thanks to all who chimed in as it definitely helps me understand better. Heck, looking at it now tells me I set myself up for an easy and legitimate target to bash but somehow you guys had...

    Only 4000RPM at WOT???

Earlier today I took out my 02 Convinsor 300 that I have just recently bought. New to boating but today was nice and the water fairly calm so I decided to open it up. Has twin 496's and sounds great. Boat rides smooth but could only hit approx 4000RPM at 60mph. I was under the impression the 496...

First time entering the boat world

I bought some fenders but failed to have them lined up right the first time...freakin black marks, but magic eraser saved me...this time. Will mostly be at lake of the ozarks but have been taking it to a small lake (long branch) close to home to get comfortable.

Yeah I too dislike the clunking of the trailer articulating, especially when it's not even working. What you are describing with the electric is basically what the salesman was saying is becoming popular. Just need to decide what route to take as I definitely need it functional. I love the way...

Thanks for the advice. I took it out yesterday and got some black marks from the rub rail on the dock. Was windy as hell but everything worked out. I love superchargers particularly roots style blowers, but I may be a little while before im ready for some whine with my rumble:D

You are going to shake your head, but I'm towing with a cadillac escalade. Pulls good but really needs the additional braking power. Does great pulling our travel trailer (7xxxlbs) just gets thirsty doing it:D

Thanks. Yeah it was a little heavy when slowing down while bringing it home. I heard some have ditched the surge brakes and installed electric making it more user friendly when backing down a steep ramp. Thoughts?

Yeah the trailer isn't great. Does have corrosion in 3 spots and the surge brakes dont work. The wireing, tires, and wheel bearings all new. We did dip the boat back in and winched it up flush before we took off.

Good idea. I took a course ages ago but couldn't hurt to do one I might remember. We were originally going to use Progressive but to our surprise, Safeco ended up much cheaper with same coverage ($387year). My wife is my agent.

Equipped with twin 425hp 496's. Yes big first step but plan on getting to know it and taking it easy till we are comfortable. Thanks.

Yeah that's the one. Twin 425hp 496's. We are very exited. Was originally looking at a single 502 Profile 29v, but when we hopped in, it just "felt right". Salesman made a great point that we would soon outgrow the Profile (knowing our taste of fun and hobbies) and can grow into the Checkmate...
