    383 carb questions

    I am running my Q-jet. I changed the secondary cam and put in differnt metering rods. I also had the channel restrictions opened up to allow more fuel. I'm happy with it spark plugs are a nice cardboard brown.

    I had it out this weekend. I got the fuel prooblem fixed and I set the timing up. I am very happy with the way it runs. It has a mean idle and hauls a$$. I got about 62-63 mph out of it at 5200 RPM. Thats a great improvement from 55mph with 350. Thanks for all the input.

    Engine To HOT!

    170 isn't to hot. If you take the t-stat out the engine will not warm up. I see it all the time at work. The t-stat can get something in it and hold it open a little. Then the temp never comes up.

    Hello. Im looking at purchasing a 1991 ambasador. Im not sure if it is a 20ft or 21ft. The dealership says it is a 21ft but i can only find 20fters on the web. The boat has the 5.7 liter engine in it. I was wondering if this would be a good performance boat and what kind speeds i could expect...
