    2100 Br New setup

I have a 28 trophy that I got from John at Kawartha propeller a couple years ago that I never use. I'd consider selling it if you're thinking about buying one. It's only had about an hour's use since I got it. It worked great on my 2000BRX/250ProXS, but the family is so much more interested...

08 2100 with 08 300xs no power out of hole

Yes, I would agree with Sam that it seems the problem might be something to do with the prop itself. If something about the Trophy Plus is restricting the exhaust, that sort of thing can impact the performance of a 2-stroke quite significantly. The restricted exhaust would just seem like more...

08 2100 with 08 300xs no power out of hole

Wow, awesome find Sam!! That said, I find it weird that the motor has great hole shot with the 23p Laser but not the 25p Trophy Plus. I have both those props that I use on my 250 ProXS and even though the 23p Laser II has better hole shot of the two, it's not like it's a night and day...

    My TUFF 28

That's one super-nice Tuff you got there! I think that's slightly better top speed than the red Tuff 28 with twin 400Rs that was seen at the Muskoka Checkmate Rally last summer too. It's the red one here: http://www.tuffboats.com/models/tuff-28-outboard From what I heard that Tuff with the...

    lexan or Plexiglass?

Lexan (polycarbonate) is shatterproof and you can drill hoes in it pretty easily for mounting, but it tends to scratch a little more easily than Plexiglass. Plexiglass (acrylic) will shatter with enough impact and can crack/break when drilling holes through it. If it were me, I would go with...

08 2100 with 08 300xs no power out of hole

http://checkmate-boats.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30827&page=15 Check out the pictures on posts 149 and 150. This custom made offset bracket adds basically no setback and he has a 400R bolted to it.

08 2100 with 08 300xs no power out of hole

Yes, it sounds to me like the motor is too deep as well but I don't think that's the only issue. I run a 25" Trophy Plus on my 2000 BRX with 250 ProXS/1.75 pretty much all the time and don't have any significant issues with hole shot even with the prop shaft all the way down on my hyd. jack...

08 2100 with 08 300xs no power out of hole

Fuel pressure and fuel flow are related but kinda separate. You can have good PSI but still have low GPM. But it seems you know that because you said PSI has been tested but not under load (and PSI will drop under load if GPM is restricted/too low). The fact that you can hit the rev limiter...

08 2100 with 08 300xs no power out of hole

Not sure if this has been done or is just a dumb suggestion, but is there any chance the motor is starved for fuel on launch? If there's an internal flap of rubber loose inside the squeeze bulb or flap of something stuck in the fuel filter or something like a piece of cling wrap in the gas...

    2100 BR Prop Question, Again

Anyone tried a drag plate on a G2 to reduce/eliminate porpoising at <40 mph? If the Evinrude has less tuck than a Merc it seems that a drag plate might help while being a better option than trim tabs. Drag plate is light, simple (no moving parts), relatively inexpensive, doesn't require holes...

    2100 BR Prop Question, Again

Thanks! The Mercury pages didn't have any comparison to the Trophy Plus props ... they only compared them to the Tempest, Fury and Revolution 4 (none of which I have tried on my boat). But for the Bravo I FS it says to pitch up 1" from Tempest and 2" from Revolution 4 so maybe I'll stick with...

    2100 BR Prop Question, Again

That's what I wanna try as well - Bravo 1 XS. Just not sure what pitch to get. Would you happen to know how their pitch relates to that of a Trophy Plus? With a 25p Trophy Plus I'm getting ~73 MPH @ 6000 rpm and with a Trophy Plus 28p around 75 MPH @ 5400 rpm. This is with 14.5" setback...

Where to buy Checkmate fuel filler

Glad it worked out and thanks for the info! If they're not making any more I'll think I'll go ahead and buy a couple spares myself. What happened to you could happen to anyone!

    New Tuff 24 with G2 250 HO: 93 MPH

Not cheap ... but Mark & team puts a lot of work into their Tuffs and the rigging is top notch like everything else on the boat. BIG thumbs up on the quality of Tuff's that I've seen. Carbon build adds a fair bit more to the cost as well. A good friend of mine built a carbon SRV (21' v-pad)...

Where to buy Checkmate fuel filler

Sorry for multiple replies. Should have spent another 10 minutes following the trail through the Internet before posting a reply. Here it is for $10.52 USD from what looks to be the manufacturer: http://www.gemlux.com/catalog/Item-Specials/99622-2
