    Merc 115, Wire gage/size?

I assume that's what it was. I bought the boat like that, Maybe the wire was in the wrong spot, Honestly, I haven't seen a service manual with good pics of where the wiring SHOULD go. I probably will just go with 1ga wire, probably buy a bit of it to replace a couple other wires just for safety...

    Merc 115, Wire gage/size?

So, my starter ground wire was completely fried to the point of it showing copper wire. Now, it seems that most wires at the sites I've been looking at show the part as obsolete. Curious, where could I find the gage/length of wires originally used? I bought a generic wire at autozone, and turns...

    Mercury 115 Tilt issue?

tip: these little brackets that sit on both sides of the outboard... will prevent manual tilt. I bled the system again, seems to be coming out smoother/heavier... I cut myself pretty bad cutting a ziptie to gain better access to the controls :brickwall: so, this project will be put on hold for...

Just bled the system (or atleast, I think I did)... and got oil running out of both cylinders... nice flow. But still... no tilt going on ;\ one of the cylinders seemed like it had a bunch of water in it... ;[

    Mercury 115 Tilt issue?

I went to autozone and bought an older ford solenoid... same issue. So I went ahead and and started google imaging. Apparently there was a small wire that went to the other solenoid that was completely missing. Now the motor runs going up and down. Is it normal for the motor to sound different...

    Mercury 115 Tilt issue?

1977 Mercury 115hp (part: 1115627 serial: 4571571) Trying to get the power trim/tilt working... I push "up" and I can hear the motor working... but I push "down" and nothing. No click, no hum, nothing. I've looked around the intarwebs and figured it could possibly be a relay... but after...

    Good evening! New owner here!

I didn't notice that little dip. Now I'm pretty sure it's a Trimate 1, it's difficult finding good info on it, when the Tri2 seems to be the lord of the trimate. Already learning new stuff about this thing :P

    Good evening! New owner here!

First time boat owner. Picked up a somewhat beatup 1975 Checkmate over the weekend, looking to make it a decent little project. I am definately here to gain some good knowledge of boats, and this checkmate, been browsing the forums for a good minute, and sounds like I'm in the right place. I...
