    Re-jetting modified 200hp merc - help!

Thanks. I got the 25 trophy after reading this forum. If I did it again I'd go down to a 24. The 4 bladed prop provides a much less squirrly ride than any of the 3 blades I have run, either thru hub or over. With sn engine of this vintage I am ok with 5600-5800 rpm. The bow lift is good...

    Repowering 1988 Starflite

I just put I've 7k into this boat and as such, a new engine will have to wait. Putting a 250 XS on this old girl will cost me about a grand for every 1 mile an hour I gain assuming I hit 80. As I only currently use the boat a week a year I Shall wait. But , ohhh don't I want to.....

    Re-jetting modified 200hp merc - help!

I have decided to keep this 200 merc stock. I just lost the lower unit as it started going tick tick tick then went south from there. Cost me 2k to replace it. I did, however replace my 5.5 inch jackplate with a 10" from CMC to get the extra setback. THe new hydraulic steering and Big Foot...

    Repowering 1988 Starflite

I replaced the 5.5 inch CMC with a 10 inch CMC high speed transom jack. The lower unit that I had locked up on me (too bad as it was a 1987 reworked lower unit with a Bob's nose cone, etc). I put a 1:1.87 lower unit on it with no nose cone and can now run 66 mph with a full tank and me in the...

    Repowering 1988 Starflite

The 200 is in great shape. I have decided to keep it for now as I have put too much money (carb overhaul, electrical system replacement, and new lower unit) in it in the past two years to let it go.

    Re-jetting modified 200hp merc - help!

I am in need of some more performance out of my 1988 200 hp Merc Black Max (carbed) hanging off the back of my 1988 Starflite. I want to install Boyson reeds, velocity stacks, an exhaust housing, and spark plug wires from Bobs Machine Shop. My concern is that I may need to re-jet when done as...

    Repowering 1988 Starflite

I am considering repowering my 1988 Starflite. The boat see's about 10 hours of use a year for the past 15 years and is in great shape. It currently has a 1988 Merc 200 Black Max on it on a CMC hydraulic jack plate with about 5.5 in setback. It has a Bobs Machine Shop nosecone. It runs a...

    The Ideal Starflite Prop!

starflite with 25 Trophy + I decided last week after reading this post and the replies to purchase a 25p Trophy Plus for my 1988 Starflite. The boat has a CMC hydraulic jackplate with 5.5 inches of setback. The engine is a 1988 200 black max with rebuilt (to factory std) carbs and a new...
