    MPH gauge

    1977 Mercury 1500 and VMate runs fine and takes off great then lets off 10-15mph, I installed a fuel pump right to the engine to ensure it was getting proper gas. Still, the same problem. Could it be a spinning prop on the hub? Has this happened to anyone? Could it still be a gas thing?

    1977 Mercury 1500 (150hp) lags in speed

    I have a 1977 17' V Mate with a 1977 Merc 150hp that won't run very fast. It's used to running speeds on the boat at 63mph. Now it takes off like a raped ape then slows down by itself to about 35mph and 4,000RPM at full throttle. I have replaced the fuel line, cleaned the fuel filter on the...
