how do run dual cables out with a 10 jackplate

An observation; when I ran my dual cable steering with the jack plate, I ran one cable down each side of the hull. The main purpose of dual cables is to reduce/eliminate the "slop" or looseness of a single cable, and thereby minimize/eliminate the associated handling issues, mainly...

    Coop's Garage 1983 Predictor Project.

I really enjoyed that boat. Looks like you will be enjoying it even more. And, as the guy who removed all the old wood, that effort alone was just about worth what I sold the boat for. Very functional trailer too. I'm glad it went to a good home. Keep the pictures coming. You are going...

    COOP IS ON HIS WAY!

It was great to meet Coop. It gives you a good feeling when something leaves you, and ends up with someone else who will appreciate it. I don't know about that boat being on eBay. I bought it in May 2003, from a family in Hartland, Michigan who had owned it for a long time. I saw it...

    Asking price for Fantasy F-13??

Always an interesting question, because there never seems to be any consistency to the answer. I would suggest you decide what you think would be a fair price, or what you would feel comfortable selling the boat for. Ultimately, it is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. If you...

    78 Predictor and 89 100hp Mariner (Sold)

Hey! Sold your bass boat, got a Checkmate, and already looking for more. Its a pattern I have seen many times. You do seem to be on the "accelerated" learning curve.

Trying to decide what to do.

Oh, I didn't have any pictures of the Checkmate so the Avatar was my first "store bought" go fast. It is a yellow and metallic green (yummm) 1974 Switzer, with a short shaft 1976 Mercury I-6 150. In pre-GPS speak, it ran 58 mph. I had a blast with that boat.

    Steering Setup?

Sorry if this is too basic, but if you go to a double cable system, it will work better if you run a cable down each side of the hull. The only reason for the play with a single cable is the cable has two bends in the same direction. When turned one way, the cable pulls against the inside of...

Trying to decide what to do.

I have a 1983 Predictor, metal flake blue and silver. I ran the boat in 2003/2004, and there would always be a little water in the bilge after being in the water for a couple of hours. Bilge pumped out "tea." Transom was soaked, but still strong, no cracks. I don't like things not to be...

Thought I could Post a picture of my Laser. No such luck yet.

    To Upgrade or Not ??

Not being familiar with your set up, it is hard to say. Before providing input, it would be helpful to know the following: Does your lower unit have a nose cone? Are you running with a jack plate? How high are you running your lower unit? What style of prop are you using? How much trim do...

Looking to buy 15 to 18ft

I have a 1983 Predictor, Metal flake blue and silver. It has a great running 1983 Mercury 80 hp, with power trim. I can e-mail you pictures if you want. Here's the deal. The boat is in mid-project. I determined that the transom was water logged (although there are no stress cracks in the...
