  • Hey guys, im new to this site. Just looking at getting some advice on my checkmate diplomat. I just bought it this past year. Have not had it on the water at all. Been doing alot of buffing/cleaning/making it look pretty. Ive got a 2.5 150 merc that im rebuilding over the winter. I believe its a 1997. I guess im just wondering if anyone has similar set up and if you suggest a jack plate or not. i have the mid and lower mounted on the boat now. Just wondering if i should look at putting a jack plate on it before i even rebuild the engine. Guess any advice on set up would be great. First boat that I have purchased and really excited about it. Just looking for some advice
