    Long Distance Records/Azz-Haulin'

The team that set the dam~2~dam~2~dam record used 119.6 gallons of fuel and averaged 75.5 mph. They had some pretty serious navigation aides to monitor depth and brought along someone quite familiar with the upper mile markers to keep them in the channel. My dream is to build a 22' Checkmate...

Lake Ozark Shootout 2013 - new record

224 mph. Whew! - its the most wonderful time of the year around these parts. Last weekend found the Shootout record of 209 mph shattered by My Way a twin turbine (t-55s...3000 hp per side) 50' Mystic. It arrived Friday from Canada: And Sunday morning I motored over in my Predictor in time to...

    Boat crash

MERC245 is well informed. This did occur on Lake Ozark on the main channel on the Friday of the Shootout during a poker run with a lot of other powerboats out and about. The water was a little unpredictable that day. Driver was ticketed for a passenger gunwhaling while underway earlier in the...

    CHECKing in from the Shootout

Unfortunately, my predictor is too short to run, but judging by the competition, I'm going to need a bigger faster boat (Wildman-I'll holler once the bankroll is ready). So far, an Eliminator has run 192, and a tri-toon went 112. Lots o fun on this backyard boater holiday...

How many miles do you run in a day of boating?

Last Sunday we (me +1) set out adventuring and logged 46 miles on Lake Ozark...burnt 10 gallons and ran hard the whole time.

    1980 Predictor wakeboard tower question

I too have a 1980 Predictor and when the sun hits it just right, you can see light through the fiberglass in the sides. Beyond that, I imagine you would have trouble getting up on plane pulling from a tower. Does your Predictor have a ski pylon? - works well on mine.

My view of the 2400 brx

Sounds good...I am at Larry's on the Lake more often than not (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVU86rMNYYk )as it is directly across from where I live and I make it to Capt. Ron's at least once a week so I'll keep an eye out for your boat.

My view of the 2400 brx

John, thanks for taking the time to share the review. As a fellow Ozark-Checkmater (31 mm) I'm happy to hear about pride and performance in the product. Have you used it at all for towables (ski, tube, wakeboard)? I'm curious as to how the hole-shot is and how well it holds a towing speed.

    Checkmates NEW 40 footer

Look forward to seeing you and that mighty boat at Lake Ozark (I might've already heralded your boat's birth over on MidWestBoatParty.com). I'd suggest the following events for sure... Support our Troops Poker Run (Friday June 22nd): http://midwestboatparty.com/pokerrun/ -with that paintjob...

    New boat...bad experience

How about a bad starter? Mine acted similarly, I ran power directly to the starter, determined it was bad, purchased a repurposed one from the local evinrude dealer and had it on before my date arrived that afternoon.

    I'm famous! Cover and centerfold!

+1...was thrilled to find a copy at my local Lake Ozark supermarket. After reading the article, looking at pics, looking at my Checkmate, looking at what it would've taken to be Top Gun at this years Shootout in the 22'-25' single engine v-bottom non-professional class (76 mph), checking the...

Anyone running or watching The Shootout?

Check out their very objective breakdown of what they contend their speed was and I was drifting at the finish line for their 5th pass...it looked and sounded faster than anything I've seen... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAQ8R8LwyTM&feature=youtu.be ...and a pic representing the C-Mate's (if...

    New to me 86 Exciter

Nice looking boat (and dog). Are you primarily looking for speed or also watersports? A hydrofoil helps my predictor get on plan quicker and provides some stability, but it did scrub 1-2 mph of the top end.

    "Wasted Income" 1986-2011 R.I.P.

...but lest we not forget the good times. Watching the restoration thread, seeing the powerplant installed for the first time, finding and eliminating the gremlins on its sea trials and most of all, you out there having fun in the boat that you brought back to life. A fire can't take those...
