    Oil power wash?

Good to hear it was an easy fix - amazing how much difference a PCV can make. I have a straight 6 that blows a little oil through the rear seal at 4800 -5000 so I'll take another look at the PCV - thanks.

anyone with silent choice on a 454

Congrats on the '89 Maxxum - I also have one but it's a twin, waiting for some TLC. I'm pretty sure you can make that work with the offset hose couplers, manifold to diverter. It's less than 1" a side, so not too bad an offset is required.

    Oil power wash?

Wow - the only time I saw anything come up the dipstick was water, and after pulling her out from being underwater for a few days. Hopefully it's just an over-fill otherwise you're into some $$.

    Question

Our 1974 Alpha still has the original triangular plate coupler and it's clean - no rubber pieces yet :) I expected it to go a long time ago as I went through many lowers in the early years. And found a seized transom bearing when replacing the drive 7 years ago but the coupler looks great.

    454 mag won't rev over 4k - fuel pressure?

Yes - I had a sticky intake valve that caused a backfire when you punched it, but that was in an aluminum head that had overheated from a lean condition. I was able to fix it with some emery paper on the carbon burned onto the valve stem. The motor has 480 hours and I imagine the springs are a...
