    "Wanted" Checkmate Enticer

Good News/ Bad News/ Good News So, I saw your post and here is what I can tell you: Good News: I have a blue 1981 Checkmate Enticer that I will be selling probably the end of this season (winter 2013). Bad News: It lacks the original interior and looks nothing like you would imagine inside, i...

    225 HP Enticer

Dual Steering on Enticer exists. Not true, I have duals on mine. It came that way when I bought it. Steering wheel is original, it's a rack and pinion and really stiff/tight. It can be done.

    Where are you from?

Fayetteville, NC (Formerly Virginia Beach VA) The ugly sister: 81 Enticer wth 140Hp Johnson/Evinrude. baby was gutted when I got her, added generic seats and dropped a trolling motor wart on her nose. This is more of a fishing boat now. Just replaced the throttle cables and throttle control...

    Enticer 16' 1982 build V4 Johnson

Can't get Youtube embed code to work... Until I fix it search 4everunner on Youtube if you want to see my vids... SORRY for the stupid post. Some Vids Of my Ghetto 1982 16' Checkmate Enticer Bowrider. The engine is a 1981 Johnson V4, case reads Evinrude 140, but stamp inside reads J115xxx...

115 hp johnson water leaking between lower unit and upper unit.

Disregard, I put some compressed air on the pea line again and got more sand out of it. Now it streams like no ones business.

115 hp johnson water leaking between lower unit and upper unit.

Hi Old Post here, but am resurrecting. I have a similar issue with my 140 Evinrude. I hit some (OK I bottomed out and was stuck for a bit) sand a couple weeks back to the extent I clogged my 'pee line'. I cleared the pee line and ever since then I have low pressure water coming out of it. (more...

140hp 16' Enticer, hydrofoil: Where should it be on plane?

Thanks for the thoughts, I am now on the second bottom most hole (1 up from the lowest setting) The boat is handling way better in turns and the foil is still skimming the water line at speed. I think I'll leave it setup like this going forward. Haven't had a chance to see what my top end is...

Some July 4th pics of the Enticer

Yes, Mine is a 1982 as well. The engine is a 1981 140 HP Evinrude which weighs in around 365-70. I never pulled the floor up since I bought it 2 years ago, but I'm confident I have wetness underneath, I have been able to get much of it out but probably not all over the past 2 years... The...

Some July 4th pics of the Enticer

Comparing Height difference at stern. What size motor is that? It sits way higher in the back then mine. I have a 140. I'm wondring if it's the weight difference between motors or something else? (Like I'm carrying around a pool under my floor) Your boat: My boat:

140hp 16' Enticer, hydrofoil: Where should it be on plane?

Hi there, I have a 16' Enticer (1982) with 1981 140 hp Rude on the rear. I installed a hydrofoil last year and had the motor on the bottom setting. It ran very well, handled tubers etc. just fine and cornered well with the trim out about 1/4-1/2 of the way (I could start with it at the 1/4 mark...

    1983 Checkmate Enticer 16' Speed Boat w/Trailer

Sorry it didn't sell, you may want to add that it has a jack plate on it. Any idea where that ski rack came from? I have this same boat and would like to install one to help the kids get going when tubing, kneeboarding. Thanks for any leads on the ski rack,

Kitty Hawk Bay, NC 82 Checkmate Enticer

SO I raised the motor up to its highest bolt settings, probably 2-3" of rise. I'm looking forward to getting out in the next week or two to see if it improves top end. Had the motor tweaked by an old Evinrude Pro as well. He siad the motor was in really good shape for its age. Hope it warms...

Kitty Hawk Bay, NC 82 Checkmate Enticer

Got the old Enticer up to 49 mph (gps) a couple of days ago running with minimal gear and no passengers on relatively flat water (broad bay off the Lynnhaver River in Va. Beach.) 32" from water line to the bottom of the skeg with me leaning on the back of the boat, probably 4" less when I'm in...

Kitty Hawk Bay, NC 82 Checkmate Enticer

Do you run a jack plate on yours? for me, from the transom water line to the bottom of the skeg is 32" at rest. That seems somewhat deep to me. I have the motor seated at it's lowest position fully resting on the transom. I have a stingray hydro foil and it runs fine with this setup and tops...

This is my 1982 Checkmate Enticer with 1981 Evinrude 140HP shooting around Kitty Hawk Bay on the Outer Banks of NC. My Son shot the video from the water. We had just finished a day of tubing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRtb3KNINHg Enjoy.
