    Gearing for more speed!!!

    I currently use an app based gps speedo, but i need a tach and have a open hole in the dash, my thoughts are im going to keep this boat so i might aswell fix it up how i really want to the first time, otherwise i'll just end up changing it later. Im thinking about this one...

    Well its still a work in progress, had to shut down the fun early tonight for the girlfriends x-mas party at her work. Has a 1 hp new garbage disposal in the lower keg and the top keg is the mix container. Still need to complete a bulk head for the return line, wire the disposal, and clean it...

    I have a 1972 mercury 500 on my 1986 checkmate playmate. Engine runs good and currently has a 13° pitch on prop (i want to double that), im wanting more speed and better fuel economy. Im just barely touching 35mph since i have 12 batteries, two wetsound rev 8 speakers, 2 amps, a mini keg of beer...

    What to do next?

    Try rebuilding the fuel diaphram (fuel pump). Its easy and cheap. Also ensure that all your vacumm lines are in place, and in good condition without any cracking in them. Also make sure that your carb base gasket is sealing good. If the motor is still struggling, see about advancing the timing...

    Haha! Well figure they weigh 42.5 lbs.... i know because i bought them used and paid for shipping, damn expensive. Good point though, i also have 2 optimum batteries, 6 gallon gas can, and minn-kota 2 bank charger in the bow. The cmc trim unit that the motor is hung on also adds to the weight...
