Choosing the perfect crew

So dig this- Yesterday, Friday Oct. 10 it was supposed to be in the 70's so I called up a bunch of friends to see who could join me for an end of season outing on a warm weekday. Ended up with 3 guys and me.
So we put the Starliner in at Trenton, cruised down to Philly and ended up sitting in the flightpath of the airport smoking cigars and watching the planes come in a couple hundred feet over our heads. It occurred to me that I had the perfect crew and here's why.

Ray- was in the Navy for several years during Nam. Always good to have along. In addition to knowing boats and seamanship is able to identify and educate about the ships we saw yesterday at the shipyard -supply ships, aircraft carrier and troop ships. More importantly, I trust him to drive me skiing and he remembers the trailer lights at the ramp when I forgot. Also-better at Chapmans than me and brings cigars.

Roger-Fanatic private pilot. Wealth of information not only on all the planes we saw and what they were doing but also knew everything about the mothballed SS United States (Atlantic speed crossing record oceanliner) that we buzzed around and gawked at after checking out the USS New Jersey.

Clay-M.D.- Never hurts to bring along your own dr., just in case. Especially if he doesn't nag you about smoking.

Me-Hey, I get to drive. And besides, somebody's gotta bring a boat.

Well the rest of the weekend is supposed to be nice and I'll be going out with wife and son.
Let's see, what do they bring to the table..........?

It's good. It's all good.

I think if you would toss in 2 cases of beer in their you would have a big mess on your hands.

The Nam guy would be telling how it really was and the private pilot would be telling how it is now, and the doctor would be using words that nobody new what they meant. That's combination around my house is a recipe for disaster.:rof:

Sounds like you had a good time :bigthumb:

Here's my perfect crew. (2nd one is in a Baja, forgive me, BUT it does 100. (No BS)

My perfect crew includes, but is not limited to 1 case of Budweiser, and one or more young attratcive females that leave thier morals at the dock. I would post pics, but would prolly get me kicked off the site.

I boat with a guy that will not put in the water unless I am there, ( no its not my boat). We spend time at the lake house. Put the boat and the lake lice in the water all the time. No problem getting in and out at the ramp and taking care of the equipment. If there is a problem, I normally can fix it.
Well there was a weekend that I had to cut out early. So this left him and a large group of people to put all the toys in the water. 3 other guys up there and not one could get down the ramp with the trailer. He is still cussing me for that weekend.
