nice, that is a huge motor :eyecrazy:
All 420 ponies:D taller than my wife who is sitting next to it,If you notice that writing on the transom just above the black metalflake It's a sticker from the factory that says this hull was blueprinted by Checkmate boats Bucyrus Ohio. Can any one tell me was this standard or was the boat sent back to Checkmate to have this feature done to it as an option.I really love this boat it's a great setup. The motor was built by Baker Marine in Antioch Ill. fingerported, heads shaved. nose cone, exhaust relieved under the cavitation plate,4 holes drilled on each side, this way I don't have to use the snout on the mid and when the water cops come to check me out it bubbles like stock comeing out of the prop.

Guys, you're supposed to load the pictures up into the gallery first, and then link to the medium sized images - that is assuming you're a supporter. And that is who this would effect as non-supporters can't upload attachments. ;)

Now just to clarify, you can't "attach" a full size image and never have been able to. If you attach, you will end up displaying a thumbnail image being displayed, that when clicked on will display a full size image - it's always been that way. And by "attach", I mean attaching an image via the upload feature on the message board.

But I'd like to point out to you, that there are major disadvantages with attaching images, both for yourselves and the site.

Some of the disadvantages for you guys are....

-that ultimately you end up uploading the same files, over and over again as attachments. So every time you want to post a picture, you have to find it and upload it all over again.
-with the BOTM contest, you end up with a tiny little thumbnail picture instead of something people can really see
-when you attach, you can't really repost the same picture in another thread later down the line
-uploading the same files over and over, wastes the free filespace that you get with your membership and also means we have to store the same file numerous times in our database.

The advantages of the gallery are...

-when you upload a picture, it automatically goes into your own personal gallery file. Which then allows you to repost the pictures later or in another message, simply by going into your file and then copying and pasting the code into your message again.
-you can choose a category when you upload which makes it easy to share your pictures with others.
-you can post code for a thumbnail image, or you can also post full size medium size images, all from your personal gallery.
-we don't have to store multiple versions of the same picture in our database
-you can see how many times your image has been viewed, people can comment on them and you can respond. People can also rate the images.

etc. etc. etc.

And think of it this way, what would it be like, if instead of using the gallery, I had uploaded all the brochure pics as thumbnails and they were spread out all over the site in various places? What would you guys be suggesting I do? Yet essentially, that's what you guys choose to do when you upload all your files as attachments over and over again, instead of uploading them to your gallery file where you can keep them nicely organized and easy to access later when needed. :)

Chris I try to use the gallery as much as possible. But awhile back I lost the ablity to link from the gallery to the thread. When I hit the link thumb nail or medium or Image boxes. The cut copy paste box doesn't come up.This happens on any computer I use.I can't even bring over a thumb nail over. Thanks for any help! jeff

You didn't lose the ability to copy the code. The old button system was somewhat unreliable, so when the software got updated it changed. To do it now, you just highlight the code you want to use and then hit "ctrl c" on your keyboard. ;)

The nomination poll is up!

Please vote for your favourite two pics. The top two will move into the official poll which will start when this one ends.

And please respect the rules that are posted in the first post of this thread. The main one being, please no voting for your own boat.

Good luck everyone. :)

wow I hope these guys don't need to take a basic computer class to learn how to cut and paste. I just got done taking one that was required by my school, I should have tested out but eh it was fun. Other than my partner that was in his 40's and never used a computer:brickwall:

But since mine is in peices its not ready. And I VOTED FOR YOU! lol just for that I will put a old pic up next month. Merc dont start acting like a woman and put words in my mouth.
