Could someone please send me some pics of your thru-hull exhaust on an enchanter or entertainer with a small block? I've done this before but it was on an old bayliner with a lot more room to work. I wanna make sure I get it right.

I am going to get measurements in the next week to figure the exhaust I am running. I know the 4" tips like I used are real close to the steering.
 
Nice Enchanter man! where can i get those tips? my father has a 79 Enchanter with flappers in that same location, and those chrome tips would look badass!

To add to this thread, when converting to thru hull exhaust, how do you cap off the original exhaust? If the bellows is good, does that suffice or will you still get water into the bilge? I am seriously thinking about going with thru hull exhaust...

Bill, there is a plate that bolts onto the transom assembly. It blocks the water from going into the hull. Also don't forget to seal the tips in place from outside and also inside.

Hey man I have those same tips on my c-mate I think (what size are his flapper's) If so I was thinking of putting flappers on and might trade?
 
Corsa makes thru hull exhaust tips with the taper cut (bologna)
that Checkmatefever shows in his pics. They make several types of
tips in several sizes. All are made in SS.

I don't have their website address but you can Goggle it.

After looking at your second pic of the inside of the motor compartment,
it made me relive the nightmare of removing all those dam rivets when I
removed the top to my boat. And here I thought I was over all that, now
you brought it back to life. (Shivers down my spine!!!!):offtopic:

Hey wetvette, I'm not sure where the tips came from, the marina that did my exhuast ordered them for me but i do believe they are from Corsa like JT said. My tips have internal flappers built in, since they are right at the water line i think it's a must to have some type of flapper so there is no possible reversion problems. Not to take over the post but since you asked i'll throw in another pic of my boat, but make sure you post a pic of your fathers Enchanter sometime!!

I installed through hull on the boat i had before this one it had a merc 305 and if i remember to put the block off plate on you have to pull the engine but there is a simpler soultion what I did was when ever i removed the riser that went to the outdrive there was an oval shaped bellow connecting them one on each side I took that to an sheet metal shop and they fabed me two stainless steel caps that I inserted into the bellow and put to hose clamps on it and it worked fine was very inexpensive and much less time comsuming than pulling the engine. I also had to have two 3in drop down stainless pipes fabed because the boat had an intergrated swim step was alot of fun:brickwall: but it worked great. Just another suggestion I would seal the transom wood after i cut the round holes through the transom as an extra precaution to make sure no water gets to it and rots the wood that could be real expensive. Hope that helped.
 
I chose to come out above the rub rail on my diplomat and am pleased with the result... I had a different problem regarding space, but it's another option none the less.

While cleaning up my shop today I found another set of risers that go straight back instead of turning down like the ones on my mate do. Any benefit to using these instead of my stock ones?
