Can anyone give me some info on what these consist of or where I can get one. I assume it is just an extention to the oil tank with a external fill cap plumbed thru boat???

That's right! In the kit, you get deck fitting with a sealed cap, a piece of hose, and a hose adapter for the oil tank. Contact Mike Combs at Checkmate, he will point you in the right direction. boatman

Can anyone tell me where I can buy 3' of the 1-1/2'' Inside Diam hose that is capatible for oil use? I have only been able to find bulk.

Let us know where you find one. I want to set one up on the Starflite.

Mike at Checkmate has them for Mercury only, I found one for my ETEC directly from Evinrude. It cost me $46 but they only sold the hose in 25' lengths. I only need 3' or less so am hoping I can find out where to get some.

the deck fill kits are mercury items and avialable at any dealer.

mh2508 - did you try NAPA for the hose, i can usually get foot lengths of hose from them.

No I havent I did try a local hydraulic shop. The hose i need isnt like gas line hoses ect. Oil will break them down in time so they need to be approved for that. I guess it wouldnt hurt to try though. I will stop by one and see.

Looks like I'll have to snap this up with free shipping.

FYI - I have read some of the older ones vented at the external cap, be carefull to not get that one for water could get into if it gets wet. I believe all the newer ones vent internal. Again I dont know much about it but I have read of others buying them on ebay and they are the older ones.

The remote oil fill for the mercury has no vent. It is a pressurized system. Crank pulses travel to the tank in 1 hose and pushes oil to the engine mounted tank through another. boatman

My 08 Pulsare didn't come with a filler either.
Very annoying. You don't have to spill much of that
good synthetic oil before you understand why they
should come as standard equip. from Checkmate.
I believe they do now.

My dealer sold me 2 feet of this expensive
fuel line hose. Probably 1 1/4 id.
It's heavy stuff with spiral wire wound between
the layers of rubber. You need a hacksaw to cut it.

The dealer explained the high cost by saying that our good
government pals at the EPA worry that a few stray fumes
may find there way into the atmosphere & give us an extra day
of warm weather to enjoy our boats.

I'm sure most dealers would be happy to sell a foot or 2
of this stuff at this time of the year.

Good luck. It's a very worth while project.

If you can find a 1 1/2" diesel compatible hose you should be fine. Maybe something that size would be used on the filler hose of a diesel pickup truck or something like that. This thread has got me thinking that it would be nice to do one of these kits if I decide to keep my injection rather than axe it.

Pic of Oil Fill on my 2100BR

Just finished installing my remote oil fill, no more standing on my head to fill the oil tank! The cap is suppose to be water tite so I mounted it high in the splash well. There really wasnt any other good place to put it so hopefully it wont be a problem. Also mounted my on board dual bank battery charger plug high on the other side.
