Sam I am is the man!!!

Sam went out of his way for me today and picked up some bunks for Dad's boat lift, we didn't like the cradles that it came with so I ordered full length bunks around 2 week ago, I was planning on grabbing them whenever I could but we had one of the cradles break off on Monday so I needed to get the bunks now but my schedule doesn't work out to get there during day time hours, they are waiting for me in Fargo now, can't thank you enough Sam :thumb: I owe you big time.

These brackets on Dad's lift are a joke, the boat should be well under the 4000lb capacity easy and only lasted about a month before one broke, few scratches on the bottom but nothing major, you use the same brackets for the bunks as the cradles so I'm getting some different one's made this week, that will bolt on both side's of the square piece.

Not very impressed with Newmans lifts, Sam also went and took pics of one when we were stumped on how it went together, my daughters kindergarten class could have drawn better instructions.

I was wondering myself about the brackets when we put it together, not very much aluminum there to support the weight of a I/O boat.

The lift itself seems pretty heavy duty, I think with the new brackets and full length bunks to better distribute the weight it should be ok, they never charged me anything for the full length bunks which were supposed to be $320.00 for the pair so that was alright.

Happy to be here, proud to serve.

John, no problem dude! I hope everything is there. Sorry you're having trouble with the Newman's...they're a Minnesota company so I hope they get their stuff together. I've had great luck with my vertical lift. Dad has a Newman's Cantilever and it's been ok. He has the same cradles that your Dad's does and the boat has a tendancy to lean left even if it's in square. :(

Happy to help!

As far as the instructions go usually people depend on the dealer for help, I didn't have a dealer and just got it because we sell their sled trailers, We got it for cost price so I shouldn't complain too much and it is a really nice lift, just the bunk brackets seem weak, I don't think we would have had an issue with a O/B boat, that ZT is pretty rear end heavy and maybe we should have went for the 6000 lb vertical, the reason we got the 4000lb was he wanted a cantilever for the shallow water and 4000lb is the biggest they make, the boat is 2855lb dry so I thought it would be ok, I can't complain about there service either, giving me the bunks was nice, I opened up the bill when I picked them up from your house and it was $370.00 marked paid, needed the bill for the border or they wouldn't have even attached one.

We've been selling their sled trailers for years and they are great, I just got some back luck here or something

Will be installing the new bunks tomorrow and putting the boat back on, should be good to go then, I still have to finish the dock too, by the time I'm done it will be time to haul it all out for winter, lol

The thing looks bad ass sitting up there

Gotta say, I have yet to have one bad experiance when dealing with anyone on this site. Wish I could say that on every boat site I've done deals on.

Sam gets another plug from me as well on our prop exchange. Easy to deal with and does what he says!
