Anyone with Seastar Pro hydraulic steering on a pre-1994 Merc V6?

I'm looking at a Seastar Pro hydraulic steering system for my 88 Starflite with a 88 Merc 200. There is a note next to the P/N in the Seastar application chart stating that "extensive cowl modifications may be required" on pre-94 Merc V6's. I was hoping someone out there has installed one of these and can verify that for me? It seems like there would be enough room but it appears mighty tight above the steering arm area. I figure someone out there has this system on their V6 Merc. Thanks in advance!
