The newest punisher? or different?

Might be from the same mold. some of the other guys will know.
But it sure isn't nearly as pretty and 3x's the cost!

Sweet looking boat.

It looks to me thats the low deck version

From what I've read it is from the same mold but constructed a little differently. I believe its heavier than the Punisher. Very very good looking boat too!! I haven't heard any speed numbers from it yet. Last I read, they were still breaking the motors in. I'm sure Bill knows more about it and hopefully he will chime in here.

Very nice boat !! It sounds pretty close in weight but I still think the 43 blows it away. The Punisher is in a class of its own and is just stunning in person. #Wavecrusher !

Here's a couple shots of that boat while the boat was at the interior shop getting the cabin/cockpit finished...and yes, that's me and the one and only Bobby Saccenti of Apache/Chief fame:

This is the most recent boat from the same mold as ours. They even used the Checkmate designed helm and dash molds. It is lighter than ours but I don't think it's going as fast at this point. Our newest speed is 99.3 and we're swapping out the NXT drives for a pair of 6's so we'll see what that does for top speed. I've had many conversations with Bobby Saccenti as well as Scott Grady.

Good looking boat and a great pedigree, but it seems that the big dollar boat market is now owned by a small group of manufacturers and Chief isn't one of them anymore. Bobby S. is no longer working with Chief so that won't help either.

It's been for sale for a while now, to me it looks like it's facing the same marketing challenge that the 2006 Chief did and the Punisher after it. I wonder how much the price is going to drop before it finally sells. Would not surprise me if it sits some more and someone gets it for allot less than $500,000

If i would consider buying a Cigarette of 400k; i would buy this above a cig. Only the rare and one of a kind is enough for me.

It will be interesting to see how this ends up. I know that there are plenty of boaters who don't want Mercury power but I believe that the non Mercury power is not helping this sale. I'm pretty sure that Ilmore discontinued their Indy drive so that's probably seen as a negative as well. The Punisher has gotten pretty good press so I think there is less concern about the hulls performance than there was with the original 2006 hull.

The Punisher and the Race hull have proven the bottoms at least a decent design.

But I think you are right, the power/drive combo on this boat is not helping it sell. It's a good combo, but I heard/read the same thing "no more V10's or Indys" so who wants to buy something that is no longer made. You might get warranty for a few years but what do you do in 10 when there are no parts, no factory support and no aftermarket for the product because the volume was so low? The resale on the boat is hurt before you buy it new as who will buy it off you.

Merc. 700's and #6's would have been be a much better marketing move. Or given how well the race hull did, ASD's might have been a really smart marketing move with this one, get it going 105+ on 700hp and maybe you carve out a niche market for Chief. While all the custom boat builders will build to order what ever you want to buy, I think only Hustler has made allot of ASD boats so that would be your competition. Instead you have to compete with Cig, Nortech and Outerlimits. With all the name rec and history of Chief, the new race hulls success and the Punisher too, you might have been able to get a boat or two sold and get the brand restarted. But if this boat priced at almost $700,000 sits a bunch, you loose all hope of building confidence in the brand.

Ilmore is the only brand what i know that has a EU emission certification above the 700hp.
Because of that the smartest move imo is put this for sale in europe and gulf region.

One other thing to keep in mind is that this was built as a spec boat not a sold order. I don't think any of the other high end manufacturers will build a boat unless it's a sold order.

The problem for Chief is/was everyone else has a proven hull and established company. How do you get someone to place a $700,000 order on an unproven product/company when there are other safer choices. Your boat almost did it for them even though they didn't build it and the race hull helped allot I thought. But this boat needs to be sold and be seen running like you have yours.
