1970 Checkmate colors

What colors did checkmate produce in 1970. I was wanting a pink or green just to be retro, but was wondering how many different colors of gel they had and what was rare. Was sunburst a rare option?

How many different color interiors did they have? Black or white seems boring.

I am still waiting for anyone who has the old checkmate emblems, or one I could copy. My boat had em instead of the decals. I would pay a lot of money for the emblem, even a reward to copy one.....

I need an original grab handle with the end bezels also.

I need 2 nice looking rubrail ends that are at the transom, too. I am gonna keep posting and naggin till somebody gets tired of me askin....LOL

If anyone has a measurement for the center stripe, that would be nice. And one more thing, a pic of the knight on the dash with length and height so I can get a graphics guru(I found a guy in Canada to make them) would be nice.

I am sellin my Mariner 150 to get a short inline6 1350, 140, or 150, so I will be in the market for one soon. (I would also consider a short 85 hp or any short mid with trim)

Okay, that's my wish list. Hope someone can hook me up. Thanx

Does your 150 run?
Whats wrong with it? I would be interested in a black V6 swap/trade

It needs a switch box or the stator, or the trigger maybe. It sparks on 3 cyl, and when I move the coils around its the same 3 cyl, so the coils are good. Compression is even on all the cyl. I was thinking of seeing if I could get you to make it run for me. I don't care what color it is, I was thinking of painting it anyway.

Any new info from anyone yet??

Hook a brutha up

Did he blow it?
I would still be interested in buying it. I have a guy with a 78 150 inline on a checkmate. I find out the price tomorrow afternoon. They were gonna split the boat and motor up. I have no details but that till tomorrow afternoon. Motor runs good has tilt n trim, too.

I relisted the motor with no reserve starting bid at $1450. The previous bids went to 1275. I found the trim pump was stolen off it. I bought another and put it on tonight. Too bad the MX15 won't handle the 150 Mariner. I am not gonna put that much weight on the back.

Do you have the MX ready to bring down yet? Maybe we could work something out with that motor.

No, not blown, the starter gave out on him. It started really cranking slow. He might have another on the way.

I put the transom in sunday and the core for the floor got here today. I just got back from Cleveland/Marshallville Saturday. Picked up a bagger for the rider off ebay. I didn't know if you were gettin it from the Marina or not. Was waitin on the load. I have the red flake and the black flake, too. I have to spray the mold for the seat bases on the foam sometime before the weekend ends so I can do the molds. I was hopin to get an emblem so I could mold those, too. I ordered gelcoat today for it.

I was supposed to leave last Thursday with a load, but it looks like it might be this Thursday.

What's happening with the Tunnel Flight. Is that the one your selling the motor off of?

I doesn't look like I will be coming by the marina with an empty trailer for a bit.

But I was thinking maybe we could meet up in a place in like Toledo or something so neither one of us is making the full trip. That would save us a bunch of time.

The motor off the tunnelflite is the one for sale. She wanted the motor black and yellow so I bought a 150 black max for her since I was not going to paint the Mariner and ruin a perfectly good motor. She had been really wanting her boat back sometime this summer. I cut the floor out and ordered the coremat for it. I am just waiting for time to get it in. There were a couple gelcoat repairs to the side from a dock rub when I had it, too. I got some yellow gelcoat and some black gelcoat for the repairs. I had to fill in the screw holes in the bottom also.

I will probably end up finishing the MX15 next week. I found a 1350 blown up on S&F for $800 shipped. I will find out about the 150 today and see what pricing is. I thought $800 was a lot for a junk motor.

Here we go again.....

I just got back from Jersey!
Since I still have the Mariner and I couldn't resist a cheap 1350 on ebay!! The lower housing is eaten away, but I am putting the driveshaft in my lower with a bob's nosecone anyway and won't need the housing. The motor had a new motor harness and a cherry main harness. I put it on my 12' Meyers rowboat to see if it would fire. Shot some carb clean to it and she fired up n idled a second(no fuel to it yet) So, then I figured I would hook up the fuel tank.....DANG She ran and idled!! Amazing. I will be doin a link n synch on it tomorrow nite. I was plannin on havin this boat on the water by the 4th and it may just happen. Still waitin on someone to suggest a color. I don't want the same as the rest of the MX15s. May have to resort to Purple or GREEN.....naaaah, gotta keep it close to motor colors anyhow.
OKAY, I found the emblems, I just need to buy the boat they are on. Is anyone interested in a 60's Checkmate with a 50 horse merc and no Checkmate emblems? Oh, forgot to mention the Earhardt Jr special edition graphics on it....LOL Seriously, if anyone wants this boat, I will be bidding on it for the emblems only. Once I get em off, it will go back on ebay. Orrrrr someone could buy the boat and sell me the emblems :)

I would like a couple shots of some sunburst schemes if anyone can link em to me or email to zrxpert@yahoo.com

And why is my MX 15 coast guard spec decal capacity for 5???? The HP rating was 150 and they didn't even make a 150 in 1970, did they?

He listed it first with no reserve....I shoulda bid then when I first saw it....I will seee where it goes. I just want a friggin mold off the emblems

What boat is it?
I think he listed em backwards. The motor looks to be a 71 and the boat a 68
