1970s Checkmate 15,16ft Transom Thickness

Is there anyone with a 15 or 16ft mx or vmate that could let me know what the factory transom thickness was? I'm planning on rebuilding my MX-14 transom stronger than stock. Also if there's a better place to ask this on the forum let me know.
Thanks,
Remington
