1977 Convincer

Any tips on what product to use to keep the boat finish from fading? Purchased 77 convincer last summer and it is in showroom condition. The boat was used very little prior to my purchase, so it is out in the sun a lot more. I just want to make sure that the gel coat doesn't fade.
Any help would be appreciated.

Any good marine wax should do the trick. The stuff I used most recently was Meguiar's (but that was after wet-sanding and aqua-buffing). I've read good things about RaceGlaze as well. Just make sure it is a marine wax, auto waxes can yellow the gel coat.

Thanks for the tip. Do you see many of the 1977 Convincer's? I have tried to look it up on the internet, but it doesn't seem like there is much information about them. We love ours. It is a real eye catcher.

I think there is only a handful of the '77-78 Convincers on this forum. The only place I've seen another one is in the brochure in the Gallery. Its not even listed on the NADA guides website. Seem to be pretty rare.

I have been seeing a couple listed on Ebay lately though.

What color is your boat? Mine is brown and gold. Looking forward to the long weekend. This will probably be the last time out this year for us.

Brown and Gold, same color scheme. Had to put a lot of work into it this spring to get it to shine again, ended up wet-sanding a lot of brown out of the deck but the gold still sparkles great. Hull sides look pretty good too except for all the dock rash that its earned over the past 30 years. I've still got to get some good pics up, haven't gotten any great ones this season since I've "finished" it. (No project is ever really done). This may be the best so far... DSCN0084.jpg
