1977 Convincer

New member
Anyone have any experience with a 77 Convincer? This is our second summer with our new (1977) boat, but am having a hard time finding any information on it. It is a 1977 Checkmate Convincer with a 188 mercruiser, and I believe a 305 in it. I will try and get pictures posted so that you can see how good of shape it is in.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Go the The Showroom and Gallery and check out the 1978 brochure. There is a good picture of it in there. If you can dig up some pics of mine in the Overhaulin' section, just search "Convincer Project." There arent few many whole boat shots but you can check out what it looks like if you take the floor off. Hopefully before too long there will be some pictures of what it looks like with a new floor. The MerCruiser 888 is a Ford 302, not a bad motor, I have the 225, which is a 302 but with a 4barrel carb and maybe a different cam, not real sure. Parts are available from a bunch of different online retailers, just do a google search but be prepared to pay.
