2008 ZT 230BR -350 Mag w/ Bravo 1

Seriously considering this boat, finally! Looking for thoughts, what to look for, reasonable price, any guidance really. I'm a first time buyer and basically know little. I looked at the boat today and it is in mint condition from what I can tell, not a scratch, interior flawless save for 1 small poke in the back seat.

Thanks in advance or your input! Feel free to PM me as well...

yes there are 2 nice 230 br on Minneapolis. both blue and black graphics one low hours and the other 200 hr.. both under 25k

Thank you for the feedback, this one is in my city so willing to pay a premium just don't want to overpay right out of the gate. The one here is a yellow, blue and black combo, not the best for a Buckeye fan but she is stunning.

We'll see what they come back with on price!

Price they came back with is right based on your input. More than I want to spend but every toy I've bought seems to have been. Would love to hear more about the ZT vs other Checks before I pull the trigger. Lots for sale out there. Will be mostly a day trip boat skiiing and tubing with the family.

The 230 ZT has a small pad on it and it likes to ride up on it's pad - to ride level. Very nice boat and solid as a great Friend had one but if I was going to be doing a lot of skiing tubing I'd probably say it's not the best choice. Have you considered a outboard open bow Check? Capable yes, but it shines when it's up on it's pad running.

There have been a couple open bow outboards for sale but this ZT was just sreaming at me. Not good to hear about the pad though have to give that some thought.

Most of the Check boats will have a pad. My 186 Pulse has one but it is no where near as sensitive to person seating as his ZT 230 was until he was running well up on the pad at speeds 40+. Given you appear to want more of a family/water sports usage boat IMO in the long run you would be happier with a Pulse or Pulsare. The ZT 230 is certainly appealing though and I can see why one would catch your eye. His had the 6.2 with a Bravo 21P 4blade and GPS speed was 56-57 MPH. While you would lose the sundeck by going Pulse/Pulsare outboard you would likely have more, or at least as much interior room in a 21' outboard. We use our Pulse 90% the time for watersports, 10% for cruising. When it's rough out we take our big boat out but I'm amazed at how capable the Pulse is when it comes to watersports and it only has a ETEC 150HO on it.

2400 pulsare has a lot more interior room then the 2100. My 2400 also planes easier/faster and can maintain a slower speed then the my 2100 would making it better for watersports. Its a great all around boat.

How about all of the above. It's a very busy lake and the times Ive been out you see every type of boat. I would say though it's mostly a mild to medium wave environment. Maybe one of the other guys who boat there can chime in as I've only ever been a passenger.

Here is what Linn says about Alum and Buckeye where I'll boat...

"Buckeye and Alum get a lot of what is called confused water, waves/chop coming from all directions at once."
