2100br 300xs Torque Master or SportMaster

Hello
So I finally re powered my 2006 Checkmate 2100br. Original power was a 2006 225 proxs running a 27p Tempest 11" setback on Hyd. Lift. Boat would run a consistant 74-76 (best78) and would jump out of the hole with 2-4 people and have no issue with 4 adults and 4 kids.

New 300xs with a sportmaster 1.62 is should I say disappointing. Only difference is the new motor now. same, prop, same Hole shot sucks, this boat wit just 2 people. Bow lift on take off is very high, acceleration is less than the 225. Very different to drive and so far best I have seen is 81 and that was a handfull to get it at 5700.

I would not say I am new at this as I have propped and help setup many boats this one has me puzzled. WHat are anyones thoughts on a 2100 with a SM and Tempest

A 2100BR is with a 300XS is a fairly common setup and should be in the high 80s easy. A Sportmaster needs to be run really high, usually with the prop shaft about even with the pad if not even higher for speed. A Sportmaster will provide less bow lift than a Torquemaster so more setback is needed. Also, since you carry 2-4 people, a power jack plate will help with hole shot. A 27" Trophy prop has been a proven performer with that combo.
14"+ of setback, power jackplate, and Trophy prop will get you close.
You had your 225XS running great. Now just leverage the info in the posts on this forum to get your 300XS dialed in.

I do have a hydraulic lift on this setup.

Anyone running a 300xs on a 2100 with a Torquemaster.
