3 blade or 4?

i saw a article the other day that i think told me that i needed to be running a 4 blade prop on my boat... i have a 21 foot 82 enterainer, with the mercurser 260 hp I/B.. i have a 3 blade marage plus ss 23 p. not to bad but i get only about 3600 -3800 rpm... and i have a 3 blade merc 19p alum. prop.. that will get me 4400 -4800 rpms.. so what will the 4 blade prop do and what pitch should i get for skiing and speed???
