465 Horse Merc 502 and 1993 235 Persuader...?s

Lurk here quite often and browse the brochure scans to check on things when I find a Checkmate I am interested in...but...

I had never seen or heard of the Merc Racing 465 horse 502.
Anything anyone can share?

Also wondering if anyone in the West Michigan area might recognize or know anything about the 235 Persuader it's in...Or the model in general.
I have had a few friends with 25 Convincors and wonder what the shallower V and other differences will seem like (besides the obvious, less apt in rough stuff etc)

THANKS ! ! ! !sideshot.png

465 horse was a carbed motor (obviously) option for a few years in the early to mid 90's if my memory serves me correctly.

the 465 was the little brother to the hp 500 i think it was just a different cam looks like a real clean boat

I can't vouch for the 235 but I had a 219 persuader with a 601 HP 461.
Mine would porpouse often between 35 and 45 mph but other than that it was a joy to drive. I called it my corvette on the water, you had to drive it, it would not drive itself.

Think that thats the biggest "black" engine from merc...the 500 and up are all assembled under the performance "blue" engine program...
