How much speed increase will I get going from a 6" to a 10" jackplate on a 2007 2100 BR With a 225 HO Evinrude? Are there any downsides going to the 10" jackplate? Thanks, Skip

When I took my 2100BR from a 6" jack plate to a 10", the first thing I noticed was how much better balanced the boat was. Do it, you'll love it. Can't tell you what speed gains you may see, as I did a factory bow-cover at the same time as I did the bigger set-back. I gained 6 mph with both mods using the same prop.

i went with 12 inches of setback abd gained MAYBE 2mph. the boat handles alot better but you don't gain that much speed.my .02cents

I'm in the boat as ross,I added 10" in between the trans and the jackplate.I saw only like a 2 mph increase. But with the added leaverage I found a better ride and the ability to carry heavier loads at higher speeds.I can carry 4 people to almost 70 mph now.And it looks cool with the mota hanging way back there!
