77 trimate 3

Hawthorn

New member
Well it looks like I finally talked my dads friend out of his checkmate I have been trying for two years now I just have to get the money Monday before he backs out. The boat is a 77 trimate 3 with a 87 Johnson 225. My uncle bought the boat new in 77 and sold to a friend of the family a few years back to. The guy that bought it had a new transom and floors installed and replaced the wood in the seats and rewired the boat since he has had it it maybe has been in the water maybe 6 times I have been on him to sell and finally got him to agree to sell it other than let it sit and go to waste. I took it for a test run yesterday and man that is a awesome boat and fast. Here is a few pics I will post some better ones when I get it to my house

Nice Boat, I wish mine were in that condition when i got it! I have a 78 Trimate III...That should be a strong running boat, I run mid 60's with my 175....Good to see another one on the site we are a rare breed on here...lol

It is officially mine I got the title today!!! Does any body know where to get a decent cover at,it will be stored under my carport I would like to get a cover also to keep the dust out.

I had the same boat before I got the pulse I have now, I had a merc 225 on it. it handled real well. With a little setback and a 23p trophy plus or similar bow lifting prop it should handle like its on rails and carry the bow pretty well into the low to mid 60's without much effort!!
Good luck with it!!

It came with three props a 19 for pulling a 25 and a 29. I will probally try to get rid of the 29 and get a 23. If yall know anybody that wants a 29 pitch lefty prop i got one. It has a jackplate also
