I'm fairly new to the forum - thought I would post some pics of the checkmate and family. We were out at Lake Carlyle in Southern IL. for some tubing/knee boarding fun today.

Enjoy!!

Looks like a great day and a happy family! I bet your first mate there can't wait to get behind the wheel...

Swweeeet Ride..
I got a BR too,,,No choice family of 6,then daddy daddy can we bring our friends...was actually looking for a pontoon boat when i stumbled across my checkmate and saw the weight capacity...

Thanks.

It was a great day. This is my first boat and I have to say that I am extremely happy with how it performs. Plenty of power to pull skiers and will still run 50+ on the gps - actually 51, but whos counting. I will try to get some action shots of my knee boarders/tubers before the season is done here in IL.

Have a good one.

Very cool!! What's under the hood?

4.3 V6 - 205HP. Actually had it out to the Kaskaskia River this evening with 2 people the dog(Beagle) and 1/2 tank of gas and going down river hit 56mph on the GPS. Heading back to the dock it would hit about 54mph. Not sure of the brand of prop, but it is a stainless 23P 3-Blade. The engine really seemed to like the cooler temps - about 70 degrees here today. I've got to watch it though it was able to turn up to 5000 rpms and the limit I believe is 4800 - so maybe a 24P prop is in order.

if it pulls skiers good i would not go up in pitch for everyday
maybe if you want a speed prop for light loads

the starlet i had performed well with a merc mirage but i had a 350

you are running almost as fast as i was

i was running close to 60 with mine

as long as you don't stay at 5000 rpm for an extend time you should be ok like it is

i have always proped mine to be responsive rather than just top speed
seems like we always go with a boatload almost never me by myself

great looking boat the taller sides makes them feel real safe for the wife and kids

good luck daren
