After taking boat to shop for repair anylasis marina determined that my stator was junk and wanted to gouge me $800 bucks to fix it.So i found a new one on ebay that the numbers match up perfectly but new stator only has 6 wires [all white] and old one has 8 [2blue 2yellow 2red 2black]Any help would be appreciated.THANKS.

force......

OLD ( pre merc ign systems)forces are a nightmare to repair the ign system..... rules I have found... get the same type color stator wires.... to try & cross Overfrom the white to the blue/yellow is a mess with out the complete elec system.. the merc replacement i have had no luck with & they are very expensive to the tune of $600-700... pay real close attention to wire location details... you can swap them real easy.... kurt
