Best cleaner for s.s. exhaust tips?

What is everybody using to clean their s.s. exhaust tips? I've got a set of Hardin slash cut tips on my Strobe, and they get water spotted and cruddy every time I run the boat. It's a pain to keep them clean, and regular chrome polish doesn't seem to be much good. Suggestions?

I know what you mean. You gotta use a buffer and the right compound to get them to shine. I cleaned mine up just by buffing them with the same finish restoring compound that I polished the boat with.If they're really bad you'll need to get a bar of the "white" metal polishing compound.Get a small cloth buffing wheel and mount it to a high speed drill.Run/rub the wheel on the bar to get the compound into the cloth. Buff small sections at a time and you'll see a big difference.

Heres a little trick I'v learned on how to easly clean ss exhaust tips. wet down your transum and tips with water then dump some lime away on a cloth, rub the tips and spray down the back of the boat to rinse it off. thats it, really easy.

Good tip.I forgot about that stuff. That will cut thru those baked on minerals.
