Best Prop for Diplomat?

tanzi

New member
I have a 1991 205hp I/O 18' diplomat.

Whats the best prop for between 4400-4800RPM's and what are top speeds?

The best thing you can do is borrow a few props and test each one until you get the performance you want. All boats are different but my diplomat liked the 23p mirage plus. It put me at just under redline at WOT and the best mph I recall was low 50's

was it stainless steel?

I have a 4 blade aluminum prop on now i belive is a 21 pitch but my uncle says it revs to high.

I also have a 23p 3 blade stainless that seems to be to much prop for the boat, unless i get it balanced maybe?

Yes the mirage plus is a stainless prop. Your aluminum 21 should be stored in the boat for a spare or a good ski prop. If you are looking for performance then stainless is the way to go. What brand is the 23 ss prop? What are you seeing for rpm's at WOT? Why do you feel it is too much prop?

Its a Turbo prop. I dont know what the WOT RPM's are as i was going off of what my uncle said who i bought the boat from.
