Boat History

Does anyone know of any way that I can use the hull identification number to find the model and history of a boat? My dad has had the boat longer than he has had me (I'm 21) and lately I've taken it over. All he can really tell me is that its a Checkmate. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

look at other posts to get the phone number....i dont know it!

Hey dane,

I guess it depends on what you want to know. With the VIN number you can find out the year, model and how the boat was originally built. The last two digits of the VIN indicate the year of manufacture. So for instance if the VIN ends in 84 that would be a boat built in 1984. You can also give Mike Combs a call at the Checkmate factory, and if you provide him the VIN he can usually pull the build sheet for the boat and tell you most of the details of how the boat was built.
