Drive shower?

Member
Scored an Imco drive shower and installed it last week. Seemed pretty basic.

Now I've noticed a slight vibration when throttling down to headway speed. Never there before. Could the shower be causing this? Or just coincidence and I should look elsewhere?

If you installed it too close to the prop it may. I think the hole should be 1" in on the cavitation plate.

Thats weird mine does the same thing when I run my 24 prop but does not do it with a 26 or 28. I thought it was the prop,

My Egg Harbor does the same thing right at 2k rpms, no where else in the rpm range, i've had the props trued balanced/rebalanced, she doesn't do it with the 3 blades only the 4 blades. I got tired of spending money on that issue, so i just don't run her at 2k rpm. It just may be one of those things that occur with some change.

The problem started the day after I installed the shower. It seems to be according to specs. The pick up tube is a fixed length but does clear the prop fine. I may cut the tube shorter. Gonna run it without first to see if it makes a difference.
