Thanks cobra.

I run a 350 Mag w/ Alpha 1 drive and a Mirage 21 pitch 3 blade. With about a foot and a half chop on GPS the boat runs around 56 mph at 5200 RPM. Thinking about going to a four blade but not sure on pitch to get me to 60-62 MPH. That speed is also with about 1/2 tank of gas and two people in boat.

THANKS FOR THE INFO DAVE
I ALSO HAVE A 21 PITCH BUT SPINELLI MANUFACTURED IT BUT MY RPM WONT GO OVER 4400 SO I CAN ONLY GET 50 ON GPS.WHEN I CONTACTED THEM OVER AT CHECKMATE THERE FILES INDICATED A 20 PITCH AND ABOUT 55 MPH SHOULD BE SEEN. THEY SUGGESTED TO ME A 19 PITCH MIRAGE AS THAT WILL INCREASE MY RPM TO AROUND 4800.IS YOUR MOTOR ALL STOCK ?

As far as I know the motor is stock. The boat has very low hours so maybe a lot of performance is still "in it." Only a dyno would tell me other wise and I actually would like to find one local. (in NY)

A 22 Turbo (3 blade) would work nice for you Enforcer 24.5200 rpm's is a little high, should be around 4800.Probably won't see much change in speed. You'll have to build up that motor to get better speeds.Thats a lot of boat for a 260hp engine.I get 70mph (speedo) out of mine with 330 hp.

THANKS FOR THE INPUT ERIK. WILL A 22 PITCH GIVE A BETTER HOLESHOT AND DROP THE RPM? IS 5200 OVER THE POWER BAND? THIS IS THE BIGGEST BOAT I HAVE OWNED TO DATE. (VIP 185 W/302 I/O AND 20.5 CUDDY W/ ANEMIC 4 SILLYENDER--BOTH STOCK STEEL PROPED) I WAS THINKING ABOUT A 4 BLADE BUT NOT SURE WHAT PITCH I HAVE TO RUN FOR THE EXTRA BLADE. I HEAR YOU CAN GET A BIT OF A BETTER HOLESHOT BUT I DON'T HAVE $2000 TO SPEND ON PROPS TO "TRY OUT". IS TURBO A MANUFACTURER OF PROPS LIKE MIRAGE AND WOULD A 22 MIRAGE DO THE SAME THING?

A 22 TURBO wouldn't help your holeshot any,It would just drop your top end rpm's down to 4900-5000.I've used one and it worked great for me.A 21 four blade would be interesting to try but I don't have any experience with them. The Mirage only comes in odd pitch sizes 19,21,23,etc. I believe your redline is 4800 rpm so you should stay around there.Other props that would be worth a try would be a 23 Laser II or if you have enough torque a 23 Mirage. The laser and turbo are a 14 1/4" diameter.Mirages are 14 1/2"diameter and require for torque which usually a Big Block set up has.

dave . lookin good ! has it been painted ? most were at least 2 tone . whats underneath on the running surface , it looks darker . is it discoloration from oneida ? if its been painted ,was it local talent ? and do you know who is doing the whacko paint work out there ? mine would have been painted by now if i had been able to find someone good enough (local). gelcoat has its merits , but is so frustrating .RISENSHINE !!!!!!

If you're looking for local paint talent, Ontario Boat repair redid the bottom on my brothers Cobra, They did a pretty good job. If you're looking for graphics and stripes, I swear by Ewing Lettering & Graphics, They are an awesome Sign shop and have done some fantastic work. Tom Ewing is a true artist and is just overflowing with talent, He loves to make stuff look cool. They are located in Farmington N.Y. Just an hour or so down the road from you guys. Check them out if your looking for something to set your boat apart from the crowd.

Thank you Chris for posting the "trailer queen pics." I love this site, it's great!!!

Thanks Bob. The boat was painted about 5 years ago by the previous owner. I just bought it last year and this is how it was. The bottom, for some reason, is grey. The painter or previous owner didn't do the bottom for whatever reason.

I am going to have it all painted probably next year. My buddy Jeff who owns JP Auto repair does some REALLY TRICK paint work! Not gel coat though. He just got done doing his 40' Excaliber and "WOW!" He is located in Syracuse. Shoot me your e-mail and the next time I go to his shop, I will take a few pics of his 40' and 32' Chriscraft. Myself though, this year, I am focusing on the interior upgrades (original 86 grey/black) and I can not afford to do both. It needs a floor anyway (which I cut out 2 days ago) so the interior has to be out too so I figured do it now. One hell of a job so far! The graphic on the side is a sticker. I am going to take off the blue colors and put on some kinda trick "CHECKMATE" decals so if your on Oneida Lake, the boat will look very similar to what it is now. Thanks for the compliments Bob and hope to see your boat soon.

Also, thanks for the info F150GT. I will look into Ewing letters and graphics for a decal kit. (cheaper than paint and looks good too.) Do they have a web site?

Dave,
Guy named Bob Warner at Propulsion Specialists has a dyno and is the best Merc mechanic around CNY. 315-437-8099 is the # and keep trying; he sometimes is hard to get in touch with this time of year. Shop is located on corner of Midler and Old Court st in Syracuse.

dave , not positive but i think your running surface is not painted because either the paint shop couldn't get it suspended to shoot it or was afraid the paint may peel going on or off the trailer . i don't think i would paint more than it is . if the running surface is gray ,, same color as speed coat. i've seen some race boats done that way..i would just try to get the bottom as clean as i could so there is not old crud to scrub speed . RISENSHINE !!!!!!

Bob, the bottom is clean. The gel coat/paint on it though is not very smooth. Feels like undercoating for a car but, not that rough. I know I am loosing some speed but it is not speed that I am worried about. My boat is always on the trailer and I just want it to look.....good....even if I have to have it painted every 2 years. This is the only motorsport where it is OKAY to have a TRAILER QUEEN.
