Engine cover lift noisy

JimK

Member
Purchased an '01 Convincor and the ram for lifting the engine cover is quite noisy and I'm afraid something might jam in the down position.

Is this something that can be lubed or repaired with a reasonable amount of effort? Expensive to replace?

Mine was getting very noisy and I noticed that it had a grease zirc on the bottom of the screw assembly......shot several pumps in there and it made a world of difference.

I have noticed on newer mates the lift rams are slower and real noisey. The older style had a grease fitting and half the noise

Darn, no grease zerk...

It is a Lenco brand lift.

Any other ideas?
The Lenco is noisy ,usually due to the angle they are mounted.I had mine replaced under warranty by Lenco and shortly after i replaced it the noise came back. They told me that it was mounted at the wrong angle causing it to bind.

Mine creaks up and down, silicone spray on the ram takes the edge off the noise, but it is still not good.

It does appear to be mounted at a little angle.

I called Lenco and it sounds like it can be taken apart and lubed with some grease. I'll maybe cross my fingers for a couple months until I can park it inside again before I try taking it apart.

Thanks for the input guys.:)
