Entertainer I/O 1987

Just how rare is a 1987 Entertainer I/O with a 260 mercruiser? I bought this boat about a month ago and had a hard time finding a value in Bucnet and NADA. I love the boat, it has been well taken care of and runs very strong. It runs very stable at WOT (mid 60s). I have already had 2 offers to buy it and turned them down. I have not seen another one like this, I have been doing searches online with no results.
Does anyone know how many were produced ?

you may need to post a pic or a link to it. on this site you can see what checkmate offered for 1987 as the brochures are posted in the brochure section. i dont remember seeing that model and i have a 87 enforcer. someone with more experience will be along shortly.

I have a 1980 Entertainer I/O with the same engine. What prop are you running to get mid 60's? My uncle bought this boat new, and I just bought it from my Aunt last year and restored it. I remember seeing mid 60's in it when I was a kid, but so far 60 is the best I've gotten out of mine this year. Anyway, they made the Entertainer until 87 or 88 I think. I still think (although I'm biased!) it's the best looking boat for all around use ever made! I have no idea what they are worth, but I did see one sell on ebay (it was an 86 or 87) earlier this year, and I want to say it wound up going for $6,500 or $7,000 ... but I'm not sure about that. Seeing how mine is the boat I grew up learning how to ski behind, I'll never sell it, so I have never really tried to price it out. I have about 9 or 10k invested in it since I restored it, but I figure I probably couldn't get that back out of it if I wanted to! I'd love to see some pictures of yours!

Crap, I just glanced at your post and saw you are in Decatur, I think yours is the boat I saw for sale on ebay! Sorry about that, I wasn't paying much attention. It's Bob, isn't it? Anyway, from time to time Mike and Kip Combs will answer questions on this site, and it's their family who built all these Checkmates since the 60's. They can tell you how many were made, what years, and so on ...

Yes , its Bob from Decatur. I am liking this boat more as I am getting used to it. It has drawn a lot of attention wherever I go. This past weekend I covered about 80 miles with it and when I went up into our party cove at Point Mallard, several of the guys had to inspect it and compliment on it. I am using a 23" pitch ss 3 blade. I have not put it on the GPS yet so I cant say for sure but it will beat my Donzi and I know it runs 64 mph. I will tke some pics to post in the next week or so, Im on call this weekend and probably wont get out.
Bob
