Hey everyone,
Well the title says it all, what do you guys think? When i first bought the trimate II, the guy used 2 6 gallon portables as the tank, but he sold the original 20 gal aluminum built in with the boat. I liked the idea of the built in at the time, and reinstalled the tank. However, now i am starting to wonder if the portables would be nicer. So what do you all use? I know that one con would be the loss of a fuel gauge.. which is nice when it is working but who am i kiddin? How often do those things actually work.. haha, and it is pretty simple to look back behind the seat and see how much fuel is in the tank. Another con is i do like the 20 gallon capacity, although when full the stern does sit scary close to the water, it is nice to have that capacity for an all-day excursion. I could probably get 12-18 gallons with portables depending on if i could fit 2 or 3 6 gals in. Pros for me are ease of fill-up, just throw the portables in the bed of the pickup and go get gas, and also i do not trust the way the original is screwed to the floor, i am afraid that those screws are going to be the beginning of rot at some point in time.. So i will stop rambling now and see what you all think.
