Good buy? Seeking opinions/advice.

Most likely picking up this 1970s Baja this Saturday for $600. Been dreaming of owning a boat like this for a while and this deal just seemed too good.

The good: According to the owner the engine has been very well taken care of and always winterized/gear lube drained. Says it always started first crank so we'll see.

The not so good: Transom is obviously wet based on the rust streaks and owner stated that floors are starting to get soft enough to the point where his ski pole pulled up last summer when towing somebody.

I've done a decent amount of reading and watching videos on replacing floors and repairing transom on these old fiberglass boats and I feel confident that it is definitely worth the money for someone who is willing to put the time in to repair.

Just looking for opinions/input. This is ny first time posting in any online forum. Thanks!323176382_711933810567709_2595054256449744276_n.jpg323085900_648860410323986_963314703104189762_n.jpg322153788_867874657784528_8330679902252534511_n.jpg323095485_1390472165084516_7758059432352263799_n.jpg323024623_545339480845342_5354852642142951371_n.jpg323001482_1306196443559726_498599699175451987_n.jpg

Floor and wood stringer replacement is quite a bit of work but easy compared to transom plywood replacement and you better hope the balsa core in the hull is not wet too or the job gets twice as large. Material prices alone can quickly cost more than the completed boat is worth. spending $5000-7000 on a perfect/fully restored one is what I would do.
